Njeri Kabeberi is a director at Chapter Four Programs and Projects Ltd. She is the immediate past executive-director of Greenpeace Africa, and has worked for Amnesty International, the Netherlands Institute for Multi-Party Democracy, and the Centre for Multi-Party Democracy-Kenya. She serves on the advisory boards of International IDEA (Stockholm), the In-Transformation Initiative & Democracy Works (Pretoria) and the Democracy Trust Fund (Nairobi). She has received international accolades for her work, including the inaugural Humanity Award for commitment to law and justice, from the Chamber of Lawyers, Frankfurt am Main; the Democracy Ribbon for commitment to peace and democracy, from the City of The Hague; an ILO Wedge Award in 2010 for promoting women’s rights in Kenya; and a Lifetime Achievement Human Rights Defenders Award in 2017 in Kenya.
