“No Women – No Peace”

Online event: 20th anniversary of landmark UNSC Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security

HBF - no women no peace

Join us in commemorating the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security. This unprecedented resolution recognises the effects of conflict on women and girls, the importance of the prevention of gender-based violence and women’s participation in order to achieve long-lasting and stable peace.

The online event is set to take place on Monday, 26 October 2020 at 15h00. The event aims to recognise the ground-breaking achievements made in 2000, but also look at what still needs to be done to ensure women’s participation in all conflict phases. The Heinrich Böll Foundation will, at the same time, publish a web dossier featuring portraits of extraordinary women from 20 different countries who are contributing to peace and security globally.

Register here before 23 October to join us for an in-depth discussion featuring some of the women portrayed, including Nomarussia Bonase, National Coordinator of the “Khulumani Support Group” in South Africa.
